Name :
Active Recombinant Human FGF4 Protein

Specification :
| Description : The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene was identified by its oncogenic transforming activity. This gene and FGF3, another oncogenic growth factor, are located closely on chromosome 11. Co-amplification of both genes was found in various kinds of human tumors. Studies on the mouse homolog suggested a function in bone morphogenesis and limb development through the sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway. | Source : E. coli | Species : Human | Form : 20 mM PBS, pH7.4, 5%Trehalose | Bio-activity : The biological activity was determined by the does-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing KGF receptors yielding an ED50 | Molecular Mass : 19.8 kDa | Endotoxin : Less than 1EU/mg of rHuFGF-4 as determined by LAL method. | Purity : >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE | Storage : This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 centigrade, but should be kept at -20 centigrade for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8 centigrade. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into sterile distilled water or working aliquots with 20% glycerol or 0.1% BSA and store at -20 centigrade to -70 centigrade. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. | Reconstitution : Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 20% glycerol or 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at -20 centigrade to -70 centigrade. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
