Name :
Recombinant Human GP1BA Protein, His-tagged

Specification :
| Description : Glycoprotein Ib (GP Ib) is a platelet surface membrane glycoprotein composed of a heterodimer, an alpha chain and a beta chain, that is linked by disulfide bonds. The Gp Ib functions as a receptor for von Willebrand factor (VWF). The complete receptor complex includes noncovalent association of the alpha and beta subunits with platelet glycoprotein IX and platelet glycoprotein V. The binding of the GP Ib-IX-V complex to VWF facilitates initial platelet adhesion to vascular subendothelium after vascular injury, and also initiates signaling events within the platelet that lead to enhanced platelet activation, thrombosis, and hemostasis. This gene encodes the alpha subunit. Mutations in this gene result in Bernard-Soulier syndromes and platelet-type von Willebrand disease. The coding region of this gene is known to contain a polymophic variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) domain that is associated with susceptibility to nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. | Source : HEK293 | Species : Human | Tag : His | Predicted N Terminal : His 17 | Form : Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.Normally 5 % – 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements. | Molecular Mass : The recombinant human GP1BA consists of 514 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 56.7 kDa. | Protein length : Met1-Gly519 | Endotoxin : | Purity : > 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE. | Stability : Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70 centigrade | Storage : Store it under sterile conditions at -20 centigrade to -80 centigrade upon receiving. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
